The Islamic Foundation of Drogheda (IFD) is here to support members of our community with questions about Islam, worship and everyday life.
Our Imam is available to provide Islamic guidance, answer questions and help you better understand how Islamic teachings may apply to your circumstances.
Whether your question is simple or more personal, you are welcome to reach out.
You can contact the Imam regarding a wide range of Islamic matters, including:
Salah, Wudu and purification
Fasting and Ramadan
Zakat and charity
Qur'an and Islamic learning
Halal and Haram
Islamic beliefs and practices
Marriage and family matters
Islamic manners and conduct
Questions affecting new Muslims
Challenges in practising Islam
General questions about Islamic life
Questions about Islam from non-Muslims
If you are unsure whether the Imam is the right person to ask, you are still welcome to contact us.
Sometimes people need Islamic guidance regarding situations that are personal, difficult or sensitive.
You may contact the Imam privately to explain your situation and request an appointment where appropriate.
Your enquiry will be treated respectfully and with appropriate discretion.
Please be aware that an Imam is not necessarily a substitute for a qualified doctor, mental health professional, solicitor, family counsellor or other specialist where professional assistance is required.
Not every question can or should be answered by one person.
Some Islamic matters require greater scholarly expertise, while other situations may require professional or specialist support.
Where the Imam feels that someone else is better qualified to assist you, he may refer you or help connect you with an appropriate scholar, organisation or professional.
Our aim is that IFD can be a welcoming first point of contact for members of our community seeking help and Islamic guidance.
New Muslims are especially welcome to contact the Imam.
Beginning your journey in Islam can bring many questions, and you are not expected to learn everything at once.
The Imam can help with basic Islamic beliefs and practices, prayer, purification, fasting, finding reliable learning resources and becoming connected with the Muslim community.
You do not have to be Muslim to contact us.
If you are interested in Islam, have questions about Muslim beliefs or simply want to understand Islam better, you are very welcome to speak with our Imam.
There is no obligation and questions are always welcome.
We recognise that people may approach the Imam regarding very personal circumstances.
Such matters will be treated with appropriate discretion. However, confidentiality may have limits where there are serious concerns relating to safeguarding, abuse, risk of harm or other circumstances where further action may be necessary.
If you have an Islamic question or would like to request an appointment, please contact:

For more complicated or sensitive matters, you may briefly describe the nature of your enquiry and ask the Imam to arrange a suitable time to speak.
No question is too small. If we cannot assist you directly, we will endeavour to help guide you towards someone who can, inshaAllah.
